It seems no one is satisfied with just watching TV or using a computer anymore. Connectivity is key. According to eMarketer, the audience for connected or Smart TVs is growing rapidly. Smart TVs are sets hooked up to the Internet to watch Netflix, surf the Web or play online games. These viewers are using TV screens for things that have traditionally been done on computers, like social media, Google searches and more. What Smart TV means for marketers is more interactive and more personalized content—plus more opportunities to reach potential customers. If you’re trying to attract Smart TV audiences, think fewer words and more visual content when planning your website design, social media posts and content marketing strategy. This market is still nascent, but it’s important to keep an eye on it for the future.
